The Vintage Jade Distylium has a spreading mounded growth habit with attractive evergreen dark green foliage that keeps it color and provides landscape structure all year long. During the winter months this Distylium produces tons of petite red blooms along its stems for additional winter interest. These plants are also remarkably tough with the ability to tolerate drought, heat, insects, and diseases. Vintage Jade grows best when planted in well-drained slightly acidic soil and in a part sun to shady location. Many people use these as a substitute for boxwoods and hollies as a low hedge or anywhere they might want low-maintenance evergreen shrubs.
